Production
This is where visions become reality. For us, that usually means capturing the unscripted dialog for a multi-crew reality show or a simple single-person interview.
Sound is half the picture, so they say. To realize the director's vision, we must record, mix and organize all of the dialog on set while doing our part to stay on-schedule and on-budget. We are very good at anticipating where we'll need to be so that we are prepared with the right tools at the right place at the right time. Waiting on sound? Get outta here...not on our watch!
It is our job to oversee the audio recording process on set as the production sound mixer. We make sure the actors have microphones and that everything related to sound is ready to go before the show begins. When we're recording, we keep an eye on the technical aspect of the sound and make any necessary adjustments so that we get amazing results.
During production, our basis of a successful project is to be "out of sight, out of mind". A director or producer simply wants to easily hear what's going on. Our position isn't full of eccentric creativity; it simply requires high-level technical oversight with a team-first mentality.
It's a good day on set when you don't even realize we were there. We strive to improve the overall quality of the project by providing the viewer with an immersive and engaging audio experience through meticulous planning, monitoring, and mixing.
